Major shopping centre expansion moves forward
KINGAROY'S Super IGA shopping complex will be granted the lease of vacant land for storage to assist with their expansion.
This comes a year on from the expansion announcement which will include a new liquor store, cafe, speciality shop and chemist.
The South Burnett Regional Council approved the short term lease during their February general meeting.
The vacant land on Pound St will be used for equipment storage and also be used for forming and pouring of precast concrete wall slabs.
The lease will be short-term only of no more than six months.
Powercat Property Holdings owns the site and has drawn up the plans for the extension.
The plan for the expansion is to extend the supermarket into where the bakery sits, while new stores will extend from the eastern front of the Super IGA building.
The total number of parking spaces will be reduced to 156.
The development will add about 525sq m of floor space.
