Man airlifted after water accident at Boondooma Dam

A MAN in his late 40's was airlifted to Nambour Hospital after an accident at Boondooma Dam yesterday afternoon.

Careflight spokesperson Josh Campbell said the man was injured in the dam, which is a popular recreation area.

"He was being towed behind a boat and he landed heavily in the water," Mr Campbell said.

"I believe he was water-skiing."

The unconscious man was brought to water where a QAS transport crew took him to nearby Proston Showgrounds for airlift.

The Bundaberg Careflight Crew left at 4:30pm and airlifted the patient to Nambour Hospital.

He suffered head injuries but was in a stable condition.
