Matt Golinski to help those doing it tough this Christmas

CELEBRITY chef Matt Golinski will help the region get into the festive spirit at a lunch which aims to spread joy to those who are doing it tough this Christmas.

The South Burnett Regional Council's Mayor's Community Christmas Luncheon will be held from noon on Friday, December 7.

Mayor Keith Campbell extended an invitation to the community to join him at the event in the Kingaroy Town Hall.

"This year's guest speaker will be Matt Golinski who is a highly regarded professional chef, accomplished food writer and popular motivational speaker,” Cr Campbell said.

The Kingaroy State High School choir will perform at the event, and raffles will be held during the afternoon.

"All proceeds from this event will be used to purchase food vouchers which will be donated to local service providers to pass onto South Burnett families in need this Christmas,” Cr Campbell said.

"Christmas is a time where some people don't do it as happily as they may wish because of circumstances often beyond their control.”

The $25 tickets are available from the council's customer service centres, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP by Monday, December 3.
