Mayor, police give clearance of special border crossing
FAMILIES can be reassured the Easter bunny will be here at the weekend after Mayor Paul Antonio gave him special clearance in the region.
The Easter bunny was required to commit to strict hygiene protocols.
“We signed a formal agreement with the Easter bunny and Police Superintendent Mark Kelly,” Cr Antonio said.
“The Easter bunny has agreed to take extra care in social distancing and be washing his hands after every delivery.”
With thousands of families expecting a visit from Mr Bunny, he posed a direct threat to public health.
This necessitated the handwashing clause.
“We delighted about that, and the young people of Toowoomba can be assured the Easter bunny will visit,” Cr Antonio said.
The measure is the first of its kind and gives mayors a say in border controls
