Motor sport fans revving up for huge weekend

MOTOR SPORT: Aspiring racers can head to Nanango to watch the AusKart racing this weekend.

South Burnett Kart Hire is hosting the Auskart racing competition on August 11 and 12.

Kart Hire owner Rose Osborne said spectators were welcome to come and watch the professional Kart racers.

"They're pretty good at what they do and they're pretty experienced racers,” she said.

It was free to come in and watch the races from 9.30am over the weekend.

"Most people get a good adrenaline watch, they're good to sit and watch,” Osborne said.

There will be a range of races around the track during the weekend including categories such as bambino, cadet, juniors, ladies, open performance and senior classes.

The races on Saturday will last well into the evening with a dinner break at 6pm and more races to follow.

Any motor sports enthusiasts were welcome to come along, from the youngest to the oldest, she said.

The Auskart racers last came to Nanango in June and this weekend will be round six of the 2018 championships.

Food and drink will be available for sale at the Nanango kart hire centre on both days.

The Sunday races will wrap up around midday, with the hire centre back open to the public to have their own turn around the track on Nanango's hire karts.

South Burnett Kart Hire prices are $14 for 10 minutes, $20 for 15 minutes or half and hour for $36.
