Mural captures the heart of Blackbutt
LOCAL artist David Daniel has been hard at work creating a mural that encompasses all of what there is to love about Blackbutt.
Mr Daniel created the mural with high hopes the container wall at the Blackbutt Show-grounds would become a must-do tourist attraction.
"We've already had a lot of people stop to get their photos taken at it,” he said.
"People from the rail trail. Both locals and tourists.
"It would be really great if this could do something to help promote our little town. We've got so much here to share with tourists.”
Mr Daniel has many artworks on display across the South Burnett and has illustrated some children books.
He is also well known for using his art to help Blackbutt promote their annual Avocado Festival.
"I love doing everything I can for this little town,” Mr Daniel said.
"I really tried to put lots of different parts that represent Blackbutt in the mural.
"I've got the Blackbutt singers, horse riders, bike riders going along the rail trail, avocados, pies, bird watchers, and everything Blackbutt is well known for.”
Mr Daniel said he was roped into designing and painting the mural by ones of his mates from the wood workers group.
"They had this big container sitting here donated to them where they store all of their gear,” he said.
"And, they wanted to do something to highlight the show-grounds and our town.
"So they asked me if I'd have a go at it. And, well I sure did.”
