Nurse pleads guilty to Quakers Hill nursing home fire

A NURSE who set an aged-care home alight Sydney's west has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of murder.

Roger Kingsley Dean stood back and watched as the fire he started tore through the Quakers Hill Nursing home on November 18, 2011.

Three elderly residents were killed and eight later died of their injuries.

Dean's offer to plead guilty to manslaughter was rejected by the Crown Prosecutor last year.

Victims' family members cried out as Dean entered guilty pleas in the NSW Supreme Court today, reported.

He also pleaded guilty to eight charges of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm.
