OPINION: All aboard the celebrity spotting bus

HOLLYWOOD, Las Vegas, Paris, New York, South Burnett.

In the past, our humble region may have looked out of place next to these heavy-hitters of the red carpet world.

But not any more.

From football stars, to celebrity chefs, to Gold Logie winning actors, some of the biggest stars in the country have been spotted in our region over recent weeks.

And I for one think we should be rushing out and investing in a double-decker bus and advertising celebrity tours immediately.

Between fund-raising events, huge regional events and openings of big red hardware stores, it has been a selfie-lover's dream.

And why wouldn't the big names want to come to our region?

Even though it is a hell of a label and we wear it proudly, no longer are we just the peanut capital of the country.

There are copious badges the South Burnett could wear on it's proud, nutty chest.

Widely-travelled folks are coming from near and far to enjoy all the beautiful South Burnett has to offer.

Free camping grounds, gorgeous landscapes and some of the best wineries in the country with wine so good it's hard to stop at just one.

Or so I'm told.

With some massive events in store over the next couple of months, there is no sign the influx of recreational vehicles and wine lovers will dry up any time soon.

The future looks bright for our humble little region.

So bright that I'll be wearing my new sunglasses mum bought me from her recent senior's bus trip.

She says I look cool in them.

Oh that reminds me, Bert and Patty have asked if there is any availability in town during Baconfest...
