'Patriotic parmie' gets in Anzac Day spirit

NANANGO RSL has become synonymous with challenging the norm when it comes to tasty dishes.

The upcoming 2019 Anzac Day celebrations is no exception.

RSL manager, Sheena Lindholm said Anzac Day was obviously an important day on the event calendar.

"It is my first Anzac Day so we wanted to make it extra special," she said.

To commemorate the patriotic day, the popular South Burnett RSL will have a special Anzac Day chicken parmigiana on the menu.

They have taken the crowd favourite dish, and added an Anzac biscuit coating.

The innovative manager said diners will not be disappointed.

"I can assure you everyone who has tasted it said it is amazing," Ms Lindholm said.

As well as the patriotic parmie, Anzac Day attendees can enjoy traditional delicious staples such as damper, Anzac biscuits, Anzac pudding and a variety of other meals.

"Anzac Day is about the camaraderie and sharing a beer with your mates," she said.

Donations will be accepted on the day for the Soldier On Anzac Appeal.

"We will be donning badges and poppies and respectfully showing our thoughts," Ms Lindholm said.

Nanango RSL's Anzac Day celebrations will begin at 1pm.
