BACONFEST 2019: Here's what you need to know

KINGAROY'S biggest event of the year is finally here, and there is plenty of entertainment and activities to check out all in the name of pork appreciation.

We have complied a list of everything you to know about this year's BaconFest so you don't miss out on a single second of the action.

1. Road closures

Thousands of people are expected to flood the streets of Kingaroy this weekend.

Don't get caught out by sitting in traffic and missing out on all the fun.

2. All the bacon you can eat

The Bacon-Eating Competition will be held on Saturday at the cooking demonstration stage.

Contestants will fill their stomachs with copious amounts of bacon from noon in hopes of being crowned the competition winner.

3. Market launch

South Burnett Flavours will launch its farmers market at BaconFest on Sunday, August 25 at 10am.

Do not miss all of the produce as Lard lane is transformed into a market featuring tantalising fresh goods.

4. Activities for little piggies

It wouldn't be a South Burnett event without plenty of family-friendly entertainment.

5. Celebrity guest chef appearances

Locals and guests will be treated to live cooking demonstrations from well-known celebrity chefs throughout the weekend.

Well-loved South Burnett chef Jason Ford will be joining the likes of Adrian Richardson and Alastair Mcleod on stage to showcase the region's produce and show you how to make the most of these flavours.

6. Queen of the bacon

The best of the best BaconFest pin-ups are back for their second year in a row.

Hosted by Bettie Butcher, the pageant entrants will turn heads as they take to the stage for the annual competition.

7. Window shopping

Prior to this year's BaconFest, local businesses hammed up their shopfront windows with bacon-inspired designs.

Walk around the Kingaroy CBD and admire some of the creative entries.

8. South Burnett light show

If you're hanging around for the weekend, check out the artistic displays on the peanut silos at night.

The digital and projection animation project will offer you the chance to admire the talent of a local group of artists.

9. BaconFest tunes

Free entertainment will be on offer across the weekend in Kingaroy, including musical performances.

Local bands will take to the stage to fill the ears of 'baconeers' with some sweet tunes.

10. Countdown to Burnett's BaconFest
