Police catch huge number of drug drivers
DRUG drivers kept police busy at the weekend, with 15 caught and booked.
Officers from the Kingaroy and Dalby Road Policing Units, along with staff from the Roadside Drug Testing Unit in Brisbane were out in force in the lead up and aftermath of Wine and Food in the Park.
Senior Constable Jade Miller from the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit said the spike in charges wasn't due to a higher than usual volume of the drug drivers on our roads.
"It's not an increase from what we usually see, it's more that we threw more resources at it over the weekend," he said.
On Thursday, March 8, a 40-year-old Kingaroy man was intercepted driving with a drug in his system on Edward St, Kingaroy.
