Police nab drivers on region's roads
DESPITE another fatal crash in the South Burnett on Friday, motorists are continuing to break rules on the roads.
After Friday's rollover at the intersection of the Burnett Highway and Cobby Rd at Glan Devon, which killed a 21-year-old Kingaroy man, Kingaroy officer in charge Senior Sergeant David Tierney said his officers would be taking a "no-tolerance approach” to those flouting the law.
These drivers were caught by police at the weekend.
At 5.15pm on Friday, June 7, Kingaroy police pulled over a 27-year-old Greenview woman who was driving a Holden station wagon along the Bunya Highway.
The woman allegedly returned a positive sample to a roadside drug test.
She is now set to appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 5 and has been charged with driving with a relevant drug present and driving a motor vehicle without a drivers licence.
At 5.50pm on Saturday, June 8, officers pulled over a 30-year-old Kingaroy man who was driving a Holden Barina along Haly St.
Standard police checks revealed he was driving with a suspended license.
He will now appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 8 and has been charged with driving a motor vehicle without a drivers licence.
