Public savages ‘creepy’ councillor’s bachy flop

NOOSA councillor Jess Glasgow's stint on reality TV has come at a major cost, with the 36-year-old faced with losing his political career.

Cr Glasgow has already been referred to the Office of the Independent Assessor, now, mayor Tony Wellington has called for his resignation.

On last night's The Bachelorette, Cr Glasgow spoke of kissing "plenty of girls" who have "turned their heads" at his advances as well as his "wandering fingers" when speaking to the main attraction, Angie Kent.

Other contestants labelled him a "creep" and a "sleaze" and helped remove him from the show.

But how did the Coast react?

Social media was buzzing, Cr Glasgow a trending topic on Twitter, here's a bit of what you had to say.

The words "misogynist", "pig", and "revolting" were thrown around.

Sal Sosenko wrote: "You really just love touching people for no reason. Lucky that woman is quite far away from you."

Jesse Manning wrote: "It only got worse. This man is a pig and can surely say goodbye to his career."

Julie Boyd: "Absolutely no insight to his revolting behaviour and sexually inappropriate comments."

Greg Ory: "Noosa is such a small community. How on earth is he going to be able to return to public life? He's better off to resign as a councillor and get the hell out of Dodge."

Jeni Sunderland: "He's sleazy and vaguely creepy. What a shame he's associated with beautiful Noosa."

Few stuck up for Cr Glasgow.

Mei lee Waterman wrote: "Let us reflect those Noosa community values by showing kindness and understanding to all our members, including Cr Glasgow. May the good vibes come back around."

Jim Mcrobert agreed: "This is supposed to be mental health awareness week…problem is it is way too easy to deride and tribally destroy someone on this platform. Let's imagine how it is going to be to walk among the Noosa folk once this has all passed…"
