Race fans to honour Diggers in style

SOUTH Burnett racegoers will be remembering veterans in style this Anzac Day.

The Wondai Diggers Club Cup will begin at noon at the South Burnett Race Club in Wondai on Thursday.

Ladies and gents will dress for the poppies and lace theme as they vie for the fashions of the field crown.

There will be a $10 entry fee for the five-race meeting at the Wondai course.

The event will feature a bar and cocktail bar, as well as TAB.

Races include the Kingaroy RSL Benchmark 65 Handicap, Wondai Diggers Club Cup Benchmark 55 Handicap and the Anzac Day Races at Wondai Benchmark 45 Handicap.

There will also be a race sponsored by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and the Wondai RSL Maiden Plate race.

Racegoers can book their marquee seating with friends, work mates and sporting groups for $50 per table of 10.

Marquees are only available by pre-booking and need to be paid for before the race day to ensure the booking is confirmed.

But you best get in quick for a marquee as there are only a couple of tables left.

Cold platters will also be on offer, which can be pre-ordered at $49.95 per platter, suitable for 10 people.

To book a marquee or platter, call the South Burnett Race Club secretary on 0499 873 269.
