Racing at the Wondai Street Sprints

OVER the past four years, the Wondai Street Sprints have been bringing a new racing community to the South Burnett.

Spectators have been given the opportunity to watch impressive motor professionals racing their hearts out since their inaugural event in 2016.

We've also watched racers grow and beat their own previous Wondai Street Sprints records.

Vikki Paxton was listed as the fasted racer in the Wondai Street Sprints practice results for both 2017 and 2018, and after the year of preparation, Ms Paxton went from 52.97 seconds on her fastest lap in 2017, to 50.45 seconds in 2018.

Wondai Street Sprints president and event co-ordinator Kevin Krosch said Ms Paxton has competed at the event for years.

"She's one of the fastest racers we've had and will be with us again for this year's Sprints,” he said.

Along with Ms Paxton, there are also racers such as Ray Vandersee and P Sutcliffe who have achieved lap times in the top five of the Wondai Sprints practice sessions for both 2017 and 2018.

With over 100 racers competing in both competitions, this year's Wondai Street Sprints is an event you won't want to miss.

Come on down to the Wondai Industrial Estate on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14, for a weekend of racing and spectating, and don't forget to watch the Show and Shine competition on the Sunday.

The entry fee for adults will be $15 for a one-day pass, or $25 for the whole weekend.

As it is a family friendly event, children under 14 have free entry.
