THE Nanango races are back in black (and white) this weekend.

It's the first race of the 2017-18 racing season for Nanango

The six race meeting will give people the chance to get together with beautiful black and white the theme for the winter race meet.

To be in the running for Fashions on Field awards for best dressed female, male and couple you'll need to be on theme.

Spot prizes will be given out during the day for those the judges feel have made an effort to go with the theme.

If fashion isn't for you make sure you put in your losing tickets and win the prize of the day.

With plenty of options for food and drinks from the champagne bar to the canteen and barbecue as well as bookmakers and on course tote available in the betting ring.

Head to Lee Park Raceway, D'Aguilar Hwy on Saturday August 12 from 11am to 5pm.

Buses will leave Glendon St bus stop in Kingaroy at noon and the Nanango RSL at 12.30pm.

Both buses will leave shortly after the last race finishes.

The first race starts at 1.05pm.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners and under 15s enter for free.

It's the annual Nanango Cup and there will be a presentation for the club's winning trainer, T. Dougall, Jockey M.O'Brien, Horse of the years to Hopetoun Street and the blessing of the jockeys.

There are no EFTPOS facilities on site.
