REGISTRATIONS have opened for the 2017 Cherbourg Ration Shed's Reconciliation Fun Run.
Ration shed administration officer Bronwyn Tipman said the event ticked boxes for the community.
"The main aim of the event is reconciliation, it brings the two communities of Murgon and Cherbourg together,” Ms Tipman said.
"It's also about active lifestyles and meeting new people.”
The 2017 event will take place on Sunday May 21, at the end of domestic violence awareness week.
Participants run or walk from Murgon to Cherbourg, where they will be greeted with a big celebration at the end of the track, near the Ration Shed.
"It will be a massive three days in Cherbourg and Murgon, with it all wrapping up at the fun run,” Ms Tipman said.
"On the Friday in Murgon and Cherbourg there will be two big awareness marches.
"On Saturday the Murgon Junior League will host the Cherbourg Junior League in a game also promoting awareness.”
Ms Tipman said she already knew of a number of people, including dozens of university students, who planned to travel up to Cherbourg for the event.
She said people could register for the event online.
"There will be chances for people who don't have internet access to register at the Ration Shed the week prior and Thursday May 18 in Murgon, as well as on the Saturday at the footy,” she said.
Registration is $20 for adults or $5 for children.
