Revamped pharmacy offering new healthcare options and jobs

MURGON Amcal+ Pharmacy has officially opened their doors to the community, and they did so with celebrations including some delicious snags courtesy of the local Murgon Men's Shed.

The official opening saw locals, pharmacists, and retail staff gain an intimate look at the revamped store.

The lucky door prize winners walked away with La Roche Posay skincare giftpacks, Loreal cosmetic giftpacks, and HomyPed shoes.

While trading has already commenced, store owner and pharmacist, Curtis Mickan, said he is excited to officially welcome locals to the store.

"Having already received some positive feedback regarding the upgrade, we are beyond thrilled to officially open our doors to the community and service Murgon residents with their healthcare needs,” Mr Mickan said.

"With up to four pharmacists on-site, the community will benefit from over 65 years of combined experience.”

The new pharmacy was a re-brand from the Murgon Soul Pattison Chemist.

Mr Mickan said the store upgrade is set to bring about additional healthcare options and increased job opportunities for retail and pharmacy staff in the region.

The revamp is also particularly timely for residents as we head on into these cooler winter months.

"It's that time of year again when the humidity evaporates and the change in temperature seems to trigger more runny noses, dry coughs, sore throats, fevers, headaches and muscle pain,” Mr Mickan said.

"For asthma sufferers, this can be an extremely challenging time. Working with your local pharmacist or GP on an asthma action plan is often the best way to manage asthma - so it is important to follow it.

"We have access to in-store technique checker which can also assist.”

The suite of upgrades to the store also includes access to a range of in-store screening services for those who may be at risk of other conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, and the all too important pain management.

"We are committed to providing outstanding healthcare services to every customer and patient who walks through our doors,” Mr Mickan said.

"We do this through a range of structured professional programs designed to help locals at all stages of their health journey.”

The new look Murgon Amcal+ Pharmacy is located at 111 Lamb St and is open from Monday to Saturday.
