Roar stars dominate Matildas squad
Brisbane Roar players dominate a 21-strong Matildas squad named for next month's two-match series against Chile.
Six Roar women - Clare Polkinghorne, Katrina Gorry, Mackenzie Arnold, Tameka Yallop, Elise Kellond-Knight and Hayley Raso - are in a squad that doesn't include veteran attacker Lisa De Vanna, who at 34, might have played her last match for Australia.
Attacking weapon Raso's return to the Roar was confirmed on Tuesday and came hot on the heels of Sunday's news that star midfielder Kellond-Knight would this W-League season play for Brisbane for the first time since 2015.
"I'm really excited to be back," Raso said.

"I obviously love playing for Brisbane Roar. It's my home state, all my family and friends are here and there's nowhere I'd rather be.
"Hopefully we can do something special this year."
The Ante Milicic-coached Matildas are also keen to do "something special" at next year's Tokyo Olympic Games.
The November 9 (Parramatta) and November 12 (Adelaide) matches against Chile are Australia's only matches before February's first phase of Olympic qualifiers against China, Chinese Taipei and Thailand.
"We will be treating (the series with Chile) with the utmost concentration and professionalism as we aim to make great use of our time together," Milicic said.
"We held a great training camp in Sydney earlier this month however for footballers nothing beats playing matches," Milicic said.
"The players are all excited by the opportunity to come back to Australia to play on home soil for the first time since the Cup of Nations in March.
"We're expecting strong home support in both Parramatta and Adelaide, and my expectation is that our team will reward every fan … with an impressive performance."
Star striker Sam Kerr, last week named the American NWSL most valuable player after scoring 18 goals this year for runners-up Chicago Red Stars, will again captain the Matildas.
The squad includes defender Jenna McCormick, the former Adelaide Crows AFLW player who last season played for the Roar before her recent switch Melbourne Victory.
