Search begins for next Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador
KINGAROY show society is on the look out for the next Miss Kingaroy Showgirl and rural ambassador.
Miss Showgirl and Ambassador steward Rosh-Hannah De Caluwe encouraged young adults to enter.
"This is a great opportunity for the young members of the community to get involved and to be recognised for their community involvement and achievements,” Ms De Caluwe said.
Miss Showgirl must be an unmarried woman between the ages of 18 and 28 as of August 1.
The rural women are judged on their confidence, personality, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, show knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech.
The Rural Ambassador can be either a man or woman aged 20 to 30 years of age as of August 1.
The ambassador is someone who is actively involved in their local show and has a sound knowledge of current rural issues.
They symbolise the rural spirit, have vitality and are forward thinkers with a passion for the land and local agricultural show.
Applicants will be required to complete and submit an application form to email@example.com or at the Kingaroy showgrounds office.
They will also be required to attend a panel interview as well as the Showgirl and Rural Ambassador dinner.
The Kingaroy Show Society encourages all contestants to attend the Kingaroy Show, whether they win or not.
Applications will close on Wednesday, April 10.
