SET TO SHIVER: Cold has come to the Burnett
THE South Burnett is set to shiver this week with low temperatures forecast until the weekend.
Kingaroy dipped to -1.4 degrees early Monday morning as a board high pressure system moved into the region.
Joel Pippard from Weatherzone said this had created the perfect conditions for frost.
"It creates those clear skies and light winds and that allows the temperature close to the ground to become very cold over night,” he said.
"When you start getting below 3 degrees frost become a decent risk.”
Wednesday is expected to be the coldest.
"We're going to see temperatures get down to 0 or 1-3 degrees, maybe getting to that -1,” Mr Pippard said.
"Those temperatures are going to continue for the next three days and maybe into Thursday.”
