Severe storm set to bring hail to Darling Downs, Burnett
SEVERE Thunderstorms have been detected in parts of the Burnett and Darling Downs.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned at 11:00 am severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area west of Kingaroy.
"These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to northeast," a BoM spokesperson said.
"They are forecast to affect Kingaroy, Boondooma and the area northwest of Lake Boondooma by 11:30 am and the area northeast of Kingaroy, the ranges south of Gayndah and Elgin Vale by 12:00 pm.
"Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should move your car under cover or away from trees, secure loose outdoor items, seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees, avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm and beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
