Six things to do in the South Burnett this weekend
FROM Christmas events to orchestral performances, there is plenty to do in the South Burnett this weekend.
Mayor's Community Christmas Lunch, Friday
THE annual charity lunch is held at Kingaroy Town Hall from noon-2pm. A two-course lunch will be prepared by the QCWA with live music from Misfitz and Christmas carols by the Kingaroy State High School Choir. Money raised goes to South Burnett families in need.
Murgon Christmas Fair, Friday
MURGON'S 24th annual Christmas Fair starts at 5.30pm in Lamb St. There'll be live attractions from street performers, musicians and roving entertainers. Santa Claus will be near the town's Christmas tree for photos.
Bluelight Christmas Party, Friday
THE Nanango Bluelight Disco will host their 2017 Christmas Party on Friday. The event, sponsored by the Nanango Lions Club, will be held at the Nanango Bluelight Hall on George St from 6pm to 8pm. There will be free face painting, a free jumping castle and free iceblocks. Santa will arrive at 7pm.
Friday at the Shed, Friday
THE Shed in Little Drayton St, Nanango opens at 7.30pm for communal jam session. All are welcome to join in the music making or just enjoy the sweet sounds.
Community Orchestra, Saturday
THE South Burnett Community Orchestra's end-of-year concert will be held on Saturday from 5.30pm at the Kumbia Memorial Hall School of Arts Hall. Family tickets are $30, adults $15 and concession $10. The optional barbecue dinner at interval is $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Kumbia Christmas Carnival, Sunday
THE carnival is held at Kumbia Hall from 5pm until late and features the traditional Festival of Christmas Trees. There'll be face painting, games, live music. Santa arrives at 7pm.
