South Burnett digital champion crowned
POPULAR South Burnett event MC and businessman Damien Martoo has been officially named an Advance Queensland Community Digital Champion.
The announcement was made during BIEDO's recent launch of the 'platform, a Burnett Inland Business and Community Hub.'
BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm said her organisation had nominated Mr Martoo of 'The Martoo Review' for the Queensland Government program a few months ago.
"We appreciate Damien's enthusiastic approach to online platforms as a way to positively promote businesses, events and activities in the region,” she said.
"He is a great source of inspiration to others to also explore and embrace digital media.”
The program aims to encourage Queenslanders to explore and enjoy the benefits of the digital age through the stories and activities of inspirational community members.
"We extend our congratulations to Damien on being officially named a Community Digital Champion through this program,” Ms Frahm said.
"It is fantastic to now have a digital champion based right here in the Burnett inland and Damien is the first one to our knowledge.”
Mr Martoo has previously co-presented a Social Media Session in collaboration with Push Pull Marketing's Sheena Lindholm, Business South Burnett's Kristy Board and BIEDO as part of a Business Builders program last year to encourage businesses and community members to utilise features on social media platforms.
Another Social Media session will be held in Wondai on Monday, July 22. See the BIEDO Facebook page for more event details.
