Your Ekka-cellent representatives
THE South Burnett's representatives at the 2019 Royal Queensland Show were named at a successful South Burnett Sub-Chamber dinner at the weekend.
The Miss Showgirl finalists were Hayley Flint representing Proston, Teagan Hall representing Murgon, Claire-Marie Pepper representing Nanango, and Jessica McGrath representing Kingaroy.
The Rural Ambassador finalists were: Stacey Sanders representing Nanango, Brigitta Knopke representing Kingaroy, and Leonie Nichols representing Blackbutt.
This year the judges were Jacinta and Matt Ryan, and Lucy Connolly. They had quite the decision to make, after spending all day with the entrants.
The 2019 South Burnett Miss Showgirl was Teagan Hall, who was also this year's Murgon Miss Showgirl. The runner-up was Claire-Marie Pepper, who was also this year's Nanango Miss Showgirl.
The 2019 Rural Ambassador was Leonie Nichols, who was this year's Blackbutt Rural Ambassador. The runner-up was Brigitta Knopke, who was also this year's Kingaroy Rural Ambassador.
Teagan Hall and Brigitta Knopke will go on to represent the South Burnett at the Ekka later this year.
Lorraine Taylor from Murgon was the winner of the fruit cake competition, and Dianne Maudsley from Blackbutt was the runner-up.
The South Burnett Young Judges winners who are off to this year's Ekka are:
- Krystal Wardrop; Sub Chamber judged at Kingaroy Show.
- Chloe Plowman; Prime Beef Young Judge.
- Georgia Graham; Stud Beef Young Judge.
- Brooke Parlane; Stud Beef Young Parader.
