Sprints bring Shannons Super Rig
THE Wondai Street Sprints are offering a treat for truck lovers around the region.
Those attending the event on April 13 and 14 will be lucky enough to see the famous Shannons Super Rig.
It will be the truck's first appearance at the Wondai Street Sprints, however it has previously visited the region for the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival and the Scouts Show and Shine in 2018.
It also visited the Power Up Car Show, Shine and Swap Meet, hosted by the Nanango Sporting Association.
Shannons regional development officer Cole Rogerson said the truck travels around to help inform people about their insurance availabilities.
However, that's not all the truck has to offer.
"Inside there are two race simulators that everyone can play on. They're always really popular, and now that it's been upgraded only 12 or 18 months ago, if they've seen it before, there's still a reason to see it now,” he said.
Mr Rogerson said there was also one of Jim Richards' cars made up on a hoist as if it were in a workshop.
The roof of the Shannons Super Rig opens, and visitors are welcome to go up on the steps and get a good vantage point of the race grounds, too.
"This year actually marks 10 years since the truck's driver has been touring around. It's an attraction that travels to events all over Australia and we're lucky to have it here again this year,” he said.
In regards to those seeking insurance information, there will be a 3mx3m tent with pamphlets and team members to help answer questions.
You won't want to miss seeing Shannons Super Rig at their first Wondai Street Sprints.
