The best of the books to go on sale at Bookarama

TAABINGA Rotary Club members invited some of the South Burnett Times team inside the sheds where the thousands of books donated for the club's epic book sale, Bookarama, were sorted.

Each book lover picked through a fraction of roughly 7000 books that will be on sale at the Kingaroy Town Hall next month, looking for favourites, and it did not take long to dig up some gems.

Taabinga Rotary Club community service director Natasha Lumley said a team of volunteers sorted the books into genres each month, checking quality and packing them, ready to take to the book sale.

"We have six to 10 volunteers who come each month and others come in and sort during their spare time in between," Ms Lumley said.

"I brought my kids down and they were stoked at some of the books they found while helping.

"There's something for all ages, something from all genres."

With the sale just a few weeks away, book donations to add to the sale are still being accepted.

The proceeds from the sale will be used to fund community-based projects.
