Turbo charged danger for Parra
As if stopping Manly star Tom Trbojevic wasn't hard enough.
At Lottoland on Sunday, the Parramatta Eels must also contend with "Turbo" being charged with confidence due to his undefeated winning record in 2019.
If you include his two successful Origin performances for the Blues, Trbojevic has won all seven games he has played this season.
Of course a hamstring injury has seen him miss 12 games but you can't deny the Sea Eagles flyer is a winner.
It's a scary prospect for a Parramatta side that lost 54-0 the last time they played Manly at Lottoland in 2018.
Despite this deplorable result, Eels centre Brad Takairangi is remaining optimistic about his side's chances of containing Trbojevic.
"We are going to have to be on our game with a good kick chase to give him nothing in attack," Takairangi told The Sunday Telegraph.
"Tommy is a freak of a player and he is definitely one of their threats.
"Gutho was in Origin camp with him and he had nothing but high praise for him and his work ethic.
"He is a great player and he showed that he can play any position in Origin."
For all of Trbojevic's freakish skills, Takairangi believes the Mona Vale junior can be stopped in his potent tracks.
He says limiting the meters of Manly's big men will go a long way to preventing 'Turbo' from finding his top gear.
"I think the key is stopping the Sea Eagles' middle," he said.
"Marty Taupau, Addin Fonua-Blake and Jake Trbojevic do an awesome job through the middle of the field.
"If we can contain them, then hopefully we can stop the space that Turbo gets."
Unfortunately for Takairangi and his Parramatta teammates, strong defence won't be enough to completely nullify Trbojevic's brilliance.
The Sea Eagles fullback possesses the skill, speed and step to make any defender look silly.
You only have to see his statistics this season to gain an appreciation.
In just five NRL games, Trbojevic has run for 886 metres - including seven line breaks, four tries, six try assists and a whopping 28 tackle breaks.
On the plus side, Parramatta are in form having won three straight while they are locked on 20 competition points with Manly heading into Sunday's clash.
