A 20-YEAR-OLD Blackbutt North man and 27-year-old Chinchilla man have been taken into custody following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle through the region on Monday.

The duo are assisting police after allegedly stealing a Hilux from the Coffee Club in Chinchilla at 5.35am on Monday.

It then travelled at speed towards Maidenwell before it was stopped by stingers in Maidenwell.

The offenders allegedly continued to drive for two kilometres with two shredded tyres.

The QPS spokeswoman said the dog squad was deployed when the offenders took off on foot through a paddock.
