Upgrade to enable Nanango hub to better service community

CONSTRUCTION preparation has begun at the Nanango Library.

The work will improve functionality, accessibility and amenity of the important community facility.

South Burnett Regional Council Mayor Keith Campbell said he was excited to see the project take shape.

"The library and administration building is a key hub for the Nanango community and we're excited to see the refurbishment works under way,” Cr Campbell said.

"We look forward to an upgraded facility that will better cater for council and community needs.”

Lanskey Construction has been onsite this week completing initial site inspections, preparing for demolition, locating services, and making arrangements for skip bins and site offices.

The construction company will officially take possession of the building next Monday.

Council staff who are normally based at the Nanango Library and Administration Building have been relocated.

They are now working out of vacant office spaces throughout Kingaroy and at the Nanango council depot.

Both the Nanango Customer Service Centre and library have been temporarily relocated across the road at the South Burnett Energy Centre/Nanango Visitor Information Centre.

During this relocation, the Nanango Library will continue to offer most services.

Some library activities will be hosted at Ringsfield House.
