VOTE NOW: Who is the best South Burnett junior sports coach

THE South Burnett Times put out the call to find our region's best junior sports coach and the sporting public's response has been overwhelming.

The call out is part of our series asking readers to nominate someone who they believe has made an excellent contribution to the development and support of junior sports players.

Coaching a junior sports team takes time, commitment, passion and lots of patience.

These dedicated members of the community volunteer their time to share their knowledge of their favourite sport.

The response to our 'nomination post' was so great we have narrowed it down to 11 nominees.

We have placed the Top 11 (in no particular order) in a poll below.

Readers will have until 4pm on Wednesday to vote.

1. Callum Shute -South Burnett Fencing Redbacks soccer cadets

Coach Cal isn't all about winning. He is about fun and the team's love for soccer. He puts in a lot of time and energy for his team and the club. He is professional, fun, encouraging and above all he genuinely cares for the kids on his team.

2. Amanda Vikki Hetherington - Barambah (Wondai) soccer under-10/11

She's an asset to the club and is an encouraging, professional and caring coach. She goes above and beyond her call of duty, we couldn't ask for more in a coach. She is patient, encouraging and very dedicated to the sport.

3. Josh Magan -Nanango Panthers under-7s

He is super awesome with the kids of all personalities. He goes above and beyond his duty as a coach and does so much for the club.

4. Peter Carstairs -Kingaroy Red Ants under-14s

He always goes above and beyond. Treats the boys like his own and they have a lot of respect for him. Very professional and supportive, a fantastic role model for these young boys. He always puts the team before himself and is a very encouraging and happy coach.

5. Joel Smallwood -Nanango Stags under-6s and under-12s

Nominated by various

Joel is an outstanding coach and mentor for everyone in the NRLFC. He's someone people look up to. He's great with all ages and knows his stuff with the sport. The dedication, time and effort he puts into them is amazing, and the patience he has is like no other. You won't find a more dedicated, hard working person, coach or leader.

6. Bryan Phillips-Peterson -SportsFIRST Redbacks soccer team

Coach Bryan is enthusiastic, kind and just encourages everyone to do their best.

7. Eli Hyams -Nanango Stags under-7s

Nominated by Kerrie Williams

He is very supportive and a great role model to all kids. He gives the kids tips and encourages them to play football which has helped many kids to work as a team and support each other. He always has a smile on his face and encourages the kids to try their hardest, but also have fun.

8. Nathan Dean -South Burnett Eagles girls

He does all he can for all of the South Burnett Eagles girls football teams. He always goes above and beyond even though the girls drive him crazy.

9. Alan Downie -Nanango Panthers under 12/13

Nominated by Sheena Ehrlich

He is patient, kind, supportive, encouraging and a master at what he does. He is a valued member of the Nanango Panthers club. Constantly volunteering his time around the club for jobs big and small. He is completely dedicated to this Club, the under-12/13 team and also the women's team. The kids have all flourished under his expert supervision. Alan Downie is the number one coach hands down!

10. Brad Crossingham -Kingaroy Accounting and Tax Redbacks under-12/13

He is caring, fun, encouraging and a real team coach. Every kid is treated the same.

11. Ged Laherty -Nanango Stags under-7s
