SPRING is here - the perfect season to get out and about around the South Burnett.

Check out our list of some of the events happening around the region this weekend.

1. Kingaroy Bookarama

BOOK lovers will descend on the Kingaroy Town Hall this weekend in hopes of finding a new favourite among the thousands of books.

Hosted by the Taabinga Rotary Club, the two-day event will run from 9am until 4pm on Saturday, and 9am until noon on Sunday.

Books will cover a range of subjects, so don't miss out on this opportunity to snap up a few bargains.

2. Wondai Aircraft Display

TAKE the opportunity to get up close to an Air Force C-271 Spartan battlefield airlifter.

The free event at the Wondai Airport will run from 9am-1pm offering tours through the aircraft. A barbecue will also be dished up at the event.

3. Rugby league grand final

FOOTY fever is here as teams prepare for battle in the grand final at the Murgon Showgrounds on Saturday.

The under-12s game will kick off at 12.30pm, under-14s will be at 1.40pm and the A-grade clash between Cherbourg Hornets and Murgon Mustangs will start at 3pm.

4. Moffatdale Ridge Italian Festival

THE 5th annual Italian Festival will be hosted on Saturday at Moffatdale Ridge Winery.

Held in the grounds of the cellar door cafe, the venue welcome guests from 9.30am until dusk at $10 a ticket.

The celebration of the delicious cuisine will tantalise the tastebuds of festival-goers by serving up plenty of Italian-inspired treats.

5. Nanango Country Markets

JOIN in the festivities at the Nanango Showgrounds from 6am-noon to buy fresh produce.

There will also be a wide variety of crafts on offer as well as artisan goods to check out.
