WHO DUN IT? Dinner show serves up murder mystery

WHILE the guests of Crimson House may serve you a good meal, they will also keep you guessing during a series of twists and turns that unravel as you eat it.

The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society has the latest Agatha Christie spoof on the menu at their 2019 production, Murder at Crimson House.

Audience members become part of the mystery as the actors share the tale in between serving their guests a two-course meal during the theatre restaurant show.

Director Vicki Rossi said the audience could expect a fun night out at Crimson House.

“It’s a laugh a minute and it’s a great roast two-course meal,” Ms Rossi said.

Through the performance featuring song and dance, the actors take diners to an old run-down mansion which was converted into a boarding house in the 1940s.

“There’s quirky, exaggerated characters and lots of twists and turns,” Ms Rossi said.

When a murder is discovered, a young detective is called in to help solve the mystery.

Audience members are given cards to fill out and to think through who they think the murderer is.

The first-time director was proud of the opening night performance which was staged last weekend, and how far the cast had come.

“For a lot of them, it’s their first time in a major role and for some it’s their first time on stage,” Ms Rossi said.

“They’ve blown me away. They’re all enjoying it and having fun.”

“To see them go up on stage fills me with pride.”

Murder at Crimson House will performed at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in the Trade Hall.

The remaining shows are at 6.30pm on December 6, 7, 13 and 14.

Ms Rossi said there would be a bit of a Christmas treat for the final show on Saturday, December 14.

Tickets, which include the meal and show for $40, can be purchased through trybooking.com, or bt calling Ms Rossi on 0437 942 222.
