Young Paddy makes return to Highfields classroom
PATRICK O'Sullivan, the young boy who was critically injured after being thrown from a school fete ride on May 19, has returned to his classroom.
The prep student has enjoyed getting back to his classmates and teachers Mary MacKillop Primary School at Highfields after treatment and rehabilitation at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.
Paddy's father Barry said his son's return to school had been welcome.
"Although Paddy is not back at school full time, he is enjoying school work and playing with his friends, who he had not seen for a while," Mr O'Sullivan said.
Mary MacKillop principal Donaugh Shirley said Paddy was continuing to get stronger and making good progress, and she hoped to see him back at school full-time in the near future.
"As a school we would like to thank everyone from Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia and overseas who sent prayers, thoughts, gifts and best wishes to sustain us all through this time," she said.
"We are amazed by how this little boy touched everyone's heart and how much support we received.
"Our own Mary MacKillop Parish and School community were so supportive and giving that it makes one very proud to be part of such a fantastic group of people."
